Building Playgrounds and Communities Grant Program

Marlborough Plaground, before

Marlborough Plaground, after

The Building Playgrounds and Communities Grant Program has been a huge success with many community and school groups seeking our support. In 2009, 7 playground projects were completed with our assistance from the Gift Administration Grant Program and the Building Playgrounds and Communities Grant Program.

In 2010 another 23 projects are being managed through the Parks Foundation Office. Marlborough Playground was completed on May 19th. Confirmed upcoming builds are:
June 14th; Dover Community Playground - CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED!
June 26th; Sandstone MacEwan Playground
June 29th: Huntington Hills Playground
July 7th; Dalhousie Playground
August 21ST; Forest Heights Playground
August 24th-25th; Coral Springs Playground
September 14th-15th; Prairie Winds Playground

Parks Foundation Calgary is continuing to offer community and school groups:

1. The opportunity to apply for the Gift Administration Grant which provides free services to manage your project account, issue tax receipts and pay invoices.
2. The opportunity to seek advice from Parks Foundation staff on setting timelines and budgets for your playground project, writing grants such as CFEP (Community Facility Enhancement Grant), seeking designs and other resources.
3. The opportunity to apply for the Conceptual Drawing Grant which provides financial assistance for the design phase of your project if there is an environmental component. See conceptual drawing guidelines for more information.

Currently the Building Playgrounds and Communities Grant Program is over-subscribed for 2010. Please continue to submit applications for grant funding. All applications from eligible organizations will be reviewed and evaluated and subject to the availability of funds, grants will be awarded.
