CN Railway Playpark Revitalization

The CN Railway Playpark has undergone a transformation to better serve the community! In 2024, Parks Foundation began the expansion of the original play area along the Rotary/Mattamy Greenway in the community of Applewood, turning the space into a welcoming space where families, children, and individuals of all ages and abilities can play and connect.

The revitalized park now features inclusive playground equipment, a gathering space for families with shade structures, and a skateboard spot. The space is designed to support active living, social connection, and community wellbeing.

Park Location

CN Railway Playpark is accessible via the Rotary/Mattamy Parkway in Applewood - SE Calgary.

 

Park Concept

The expanded playpark features include:

  • Skateboard spot

  • A gathering space for families with shade structures

  • Inclusive playground equipment

  • Increased seating and canopy coverage
