Parks Foundation Calgary Seeks New Board Member

Since its establishment in 1985 as a non-profit organization, Parks Foundation Calgary has worked to create thriving communities and public spaces. An Agent of the City of Calgary, we exist so all Calgarians can enjoy a healthy lifestyle by providing easily accessible and unique, sport and green spaces. In our history, we have developed over $200 million in capital projects and supported hundreds of local community-led park and sport projects.
Parks Foundation Calgary is seeking one member to serve on its Board of Governors for a two year term that will begin in April, 2019. There may be an opportunity to serve two additional terms, for a total term limit of six years.

Governor Roles and Responsibilities
In governing Parks Foundation Calgary, the Board is responsible for establishing the strategic direction, overseeing and supporting management, and acting as an ambassador for the organization. Parks Foundation Calgary’s governors serve as high-profile representatives for Parks Foundation Calgary and leverage their expertise and relationships within their areas of influence to advance Parks Foundation Calgary’s mission.
Governors are expected to actively participate in approximately nine Board meetings per year, and as a member of a minimum of one Board Committee.
