A Place Designed for Care, Dignity & Community

The Martin Family Legacy Garden is Canada’s first outdoor space specifically designed for people living with dementia, their families, and caregivers.

Led by Parks Foundation Calgary, with the generous support of our donors and several community partners, this innovative park will:

  • Encourage social connection and outdoor activity

  • Provide a safe, calming, and accessible environment

  • Support dignity, inclusion, and wellbeing for all visitors

Located in Southview Park, Calgary, the garden is expected to open in fall 2026. To learn more, click here.

DEDICATING A BENCH AT THE Martin Family Legacy Garden

Through Parks Foundation’s Dedication Program, Conversation Café aims to celebrate community, and support dementia-inclusive spaces by sponsoring a dedication bench within the garden.

The bench will feature a personalized plaque, creating a lasting place for reflection, connection, and remembrance in this meaningful space.

The Conversation Café provides welcoming spaces for people living with dementia and their care partners to connect, share stories, and build community.

  • Support a 10-year dedication within the Martin Family Legacy Garden

  • Strengthen community connections through shared conversation

  • Supports Calgary Parks Foundation Calgary Dedication program

To submit your donation online:

  2. Donations of any amount will automatically receive a tax receipt through e-mail.


To submit your donation as a cheque:

  1. Include a note in the envelope with your mailing address and phone number if you would like a tax receipt for your donation.

  2. Make the cheque payable to “Parks Foundation Calgary”

  3. On the memo line please write “Conversation Café Bench”
